Confirmation

Confirmation is the third of the Sacraments of Initiation. Through the calling forth of the Holy Spirit, young men and women confirm their faith in Jesus Christ and His Church as they are sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit using Sacred Chrism that is rubbed on their foreheads by the Bishop (or his delegate). The normal age for the reception of Confirmation is when students are in the 11th grade of our CCD program.
The downloadable Confirmation policy is available below. As part of our Religious Education program, and in accord with Diocesan Policies, preparation and celebration of the Sacrament is celebrated through our parish, not through the Catholic schools. All CCD Confirmation Candidates from St. Joseph & St. Michael go to class together, and are confirmed as one class.
