St. Francis Elementary School
Excellence in Education Rooted in Faith
Founded over a century ago, St. Francis Elementary School is nestled beside St. Joseph Church on St. Joseph Avenue in Iota, Louisiana. Serving children from Pre‑K through 8th grade, we currently educate around 130 students with a student-to-teacher ratio averaging 14:1, ensuring an environment where each child is known and nurtured.
Mission & Vision
The mission of St. Francis School is to provide an environment of academic excellence and a lived Catholic faith, challenging each student to reach their full potential with the unwavering support of family and community. Approved by the Diocese of Lafayette and fully aligned with Louisiana’s educational standards, St. Francis School blends rigorous curriculum with spiritual formation.
A Well-Rounded Experience
As part of the parish family, St. Francis students benefit from liturgical celebrations, sacramental preparation, and service opportunities reflective of our Catholic identity. Extracurricular offerings, community events, and partnership with St. Joseph Church and Notre Dame High School help broaden students’ horizons and build lasting relationships.
Join Our Community
St. Francis welcomes all students regardless of race, gender, or religious background. We are proudly co-educational and dedicated to forming “the whole child”—spiritually, academically, emotionally, and socially. Enrollment is rolling, and families are invited to schedule a tour and discover how our parish school can support their child’s education and faith journey.
