St. Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus and the chaste spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, stands as a model of quiet strength, obedience, and unwavering faith. Though the Gospels do not record any spoken words from him, his actions speak volumes. Chosen by God to be the guardian of the Holy Family, St. Joseph responded with humility and courage, trusting in God's plan even when it meant changing the course of his life.
As a carpenter, Joseph provided for Jesus and Mary with the work of his hands, exemplifying the dignity of labor. As protector and head of the Holy Family, he safeguarded Christ from danger and nurtured Him during His formative years. The Church honors him as the Patron of the Universal Church, and his intercession is especially sought in matters involving family, work, and a holy death.
At St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota, we are proud to bear his name. We look to him as a spiritual father and role model, striving to imitate his virtues of humility, fidelity, and quiet service to God.

St. Michael the Archangel is one of the great protectors of God's people and a mighty warrior in the heavenly army. Scripture presents St. Michael as a defender of truth and a powerful force against evil. In the Book of Revelation, he leads the heavenly hosts in battle, casting Satan out of heaven (Revelation 12:7-9). For this reason, he is honored as the patron of police officers, soldiers, and all who fight for justice and the protection of the innocent.
Traditionally recognized as the guardian of the Church and the champion of souls at the hour of death, St. Michael’s name—“Who is like God?”—reflects his mission to glorify God and defeat pride. For centuries, the Church has invoked his protection in spiritual warfare, especially through the well-known Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel composed by Pope Leo XIII.
St. Michael Chapel in Egan serves as a mission of St. Joseph Church and bears the name of this great Archangel. We entrust the community to his care and ask for his intercession in guarding us from all harm, both physical and spiritual.
