Lector (Proclaiming God's Word)

Picture
Serving the community as a lector for Sunday liturgy is a great honor to proclaim the Word of God aloud to the gathered Body of Christ.  This ministry takes a clear speaking voice, confidence to read in front of a crowd, and a desire to prayerfully prepare by becoming familiar with the coming Sunday's readings for Mass.

This part of serving the community as a way of life is a part of the baptismal desire to participate in a greater in the effective way that Sacred Scripture changes our lives.  More than just getting up and reading something from a book, Lectors are required to participate more fully in the mystery of the Eucharist by proclaiming - not just reading - and by witnessing - not just showing up.

To serve as a lector, please contact the office and we will guide you through the proper training and preparation needed for such an important ministry.
